Workshop on Data Privacy for Network and Graph Data
University of California, Santa Cruz
November 15 and 16, 2018
The workshop will be held at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center located at 100 McAllister Way, Santa Cruz, CA. The Center is part of UCSC's Marine Science Campus, which is located just 10 minutes drive away from the main UCSC campus. The venue is within walking distance of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, or it can be accessed using public transport (public buses or for-rent electric bikes) from the Dream Inn. Parking at the facility is somewhat limited, if you decide to drive, you can download parking instructions here.
There is no official hotel for the workshop, but we recommend two hotels.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, located at 2956 Mission St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060, is within walking distance of the conference venue and offers larger rooms that include breakfast. The current UCSC rate is $179 + tax for November 14 and $125 + tax for November 15. You must call the hotel directly and ask for the UCSC rate in order to receive this pricing, at (831) 420-0777. The UCSC rate is not available for online booking.
The Dream Inn, located at 175 W Cliff Dr, Santa Cruz, CA 95060, offers upscale accommodations at a privileged location on the ocean front. The current UCSC rate is $159 + tax per night, for November 14 and 15. You must call the hotel directly and ask for the UCSC rate in order to receive this pricing, at (844) 510-1746. The UCSC rate is not available for online booking.
If you are flying into the Bay Area, airport options include San Francisco International (SFO) and San Jose International (SJC). SFO has more direct flight options and is approximately one-hour drive to the conference venue, while SJC is a 40-minute drive from the venue. The best way to access Santa Cruz from either airport is either rental car or ride-share services such as Uber or Lyft. Santa Cruz has a number of public transportation options, and at least one of the hotels we recommend is within walking distance of the venue.
The registration includes lunch on Thursday 11/15 and Friday 11/16, as well as mid-morning and mid-afternoon coffee/tea/snacks on 11/15 and mid morning on 11/16. It also includes light refreshments during the early-evening reception on 11/15.
